45 on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann Arundel county to wit on the 23.d day of July 1808 came John Cowman Jn.r before me the subscriber one of the Justices for Ann Arundel county and did acknowledge the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the freedom therein ^given^ to the within named negroes agreeable to the times allotted them them therein to be and remain within them according to the directions of an act of assembly in that case made and provided Taken and acknowledged before me the day and year above written Gideon White Recorded 23.d July 1808 Ex.d.d.d Ex.d I Mary Franklin of the county of ann arundel in the state of maryland do hereby set free from bondage my negro girl named Anna Maria when she shall arive at the age of twenty five years which will be on or near the first day of november one thousand eight hundred and nine and I do for myself my executors and administrators release unto the said AnnA Maria all my right and all claim whatsoever as to her person or to any estate she may acquire hereby declareing the said Ann Maria after the above term absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person claiming under me; In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ^twenty^ third day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight Sealed & delivered Mary Franklin (seal) in the presents of Robert Franklin on the back of the Martin Deale aforegoing was thus endorsed Edward Hall to wit Ann Arundel county to wit on the twenty third day of July one thousand eight hundred and |
