43 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Frederick Griffin of ann arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moveing do release from slavery liberate manumit and set free and by these presents after my natural death do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Milly Boston aged thirty one years and her two sons called John and Ben and them the said woman named Molly Boston and her two sons called John and Ben I do declare to be after my natural death thenceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to my heirs executors or administrators or any person or persons whatsoever claiming under me forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty ninth day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty signed sealed & delivered his in the presents of Frederick + Griffin (seal) Thomas Norris of Thos mark Ann Norris on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann Arundel county to wit on this thirtieth day of may 1808 personally appeared Frederick Griffin party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland for the said county and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman and her two sons within named after my natural death to be thenceforth manumitted discharged from all services to my heirs or to any person or persons claiming |
