355 of the State of Maryland and the said County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned and the said negro girl Harriott within mentioned at the time above specified to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all service to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Chd Henry Hammond 2½ Recorded the 18.th day of June 1816 Know all men by these presents that I Harry Disney of Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland do hereby manumit and set free a negroe woman named Beckey and her Child Matilda which persons I bought of Frances Sappington on the 23.d of August 1815. And I do hereby declare the said woman her Child and their issue to be free form the date hereof. Witness my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of February 1816 Witness his Gerrard H Snowden Harry X Disney Jn.o Chew Thomas mark On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit On this 29th of February 1816 personally appeared before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County the within named Harry Disney and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly |
