In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixteen Sign'd Seal'd and delivered Benj Gaither (seal) in the presents of James Disny Caleb White On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Receivd on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of six hundred dollars current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned Benj Gaither (seal) Anne Arundel County to wit: On this tenth day of February personally appears Benjamin Gaither party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d acknowledged before ch.d W.m Hall J.r 3 Recorded the 20.th day of May 1816 To all whom it may concern Be it Know that I |
