Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Thomas
of anne arundel county and state of maryland believing
that natural freedom is the right of all men do hereby set
free and manumit the following negroes and their
issue at the respective periods of time and in the
manner following to wit negroe Jack aged thirty eight
years to be free in five years from the date hereof
negroe Abram aged twenty three years to be free
in ten years from the date hereof negroe Ben aged
eighteen years to be free in ten years from the date
hereof negroe William aged one year to be free
in twenty seven years from the date hereof negro
Nell aged thirty years to be free in five years
from the date hereof negro Kate aged
twenty years to be free in seven years from the
date hereof negroe Esther aged eighteen years
to be free in ten years from the date hereof Rebecca
aged eleven years to be free in twelve years from
the date hereof negroe Sarah aged nine years to be
free in fourteen years from the date hereof
negroe Mary aged five years to be free in
eighteen years from the date hereof and I
do hereby set free and manumit all the
children that may be born of the above mentioned
females before the respective periods of their
becoming free the said children shall be
free the males when they arrive to the age of
twenty five years and the females at the age
twenty one years and for the full performance
of the several articles and stipulations before
