339 the sixth day of June last and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said mulatto man named Edward Boothe I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March eighteen hundred and sixteen Signed Sealed and delivered his in presence of Edward E Boothe (seal) Purnell F. Smith mark Thomas Sellman On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned Witness his Purnell F Smith Edward E Boothe Thomas Sellman mark Anne Arundel County to wit: On this nineteenth day of March eighteen hundred and sixteen personally appears Edward Boothe party to the within instrument of writing before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the mulatto man within named to be henceforth manumitted and |
