336 the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and agreably to the true intent and meaning thereof according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before paid Thomas Sellman Recorded the 13th day of February 1816 Know all men by these presents that I Nicholas J Watkins of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar current money to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by negro woman Viney have manumitted and set free and by these presents doth absolutely manumit and set free the said negro woman Viney at the time of the sealing of these presents she being of healthy constitution and sound in mind and body and capable by labour to procure sufficient food and raiment with other requisite necessaries of life and not exceeding forty years of age. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 7.th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen Signed Sealed and delivered N. J.
