332 peace for s.d Coty and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed acknowledged before ch.d Nich.s Worthington of Tho.s 2 Recorded the 15.th day of January 1816 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Francis Neale of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby set free my negro woman named Polly being of the age of forty three years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Polly I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixteen his Signed Sealed & delivered Francis X Neale (seal) in the presence of mark James Hunter William Nichols Sen.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one hundred dollars current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned the words forty three being his interlined before the execution Francis + Neale of the above deed mark Anne |
