331 acknowledges the within instrument of writing to be this act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to them or to any claiming under them and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before ch.d Rezin Estep 3 Recorded the 26.th day of December 1815 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Nicholas Watkins of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free my negroe girl named Louisa aged three years when the said Louisa arrive to the age of sixteen years after which time the said Louisa is thenceforward declared by me to be released and set free from slavery. In Testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal the thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixteen Signd Seald & delivered in Nich.s Watkins (seal) presence of Henry Willing Nich.s Worthington of Tho.s On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne Arundel County Sc.t On the 13.th January 1816 came Nicholas Watkins before me a Justice of the peace |
