330 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that We Richard Harrison and Bennett Harrison of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of five dollars current money to us in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free our negro woman named bess who is able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman bess we do hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to us our executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this fifteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Signed Sealed and delivered Rich Harrison (seal) in the presence of us Bennett Harrison (seal) John H. D Lane Eliel Gott On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Rich.d Harrison Bennett Harrison Anne Arundel County to wit On this 15.th day of December 1815 personally appears Richard Harrison and Bennett Harrison before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and |
