322 begotten then I do hereby determine grant and agree that the State and condition of the said issue shall be that of freedom. And I do hereby manumit and set free the said issue. And for the consideration aforesaid I have released from slavery manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from slavery manumit and set free my mulatto boy named James Smith being of the age of two years and son of the above named Susan which said freedom hereby granted to the said mulatto boy named James shall commence and take effect from and after the first day of January which will be in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty six. And I do hereby declare that the several and respective mulatto slaves above mentioned and their issue hereby set free and manumitted as above mentioned shall be discharged from slavery at the respective times or periods herein before mentioned.
