321 girl named Charity Smith also daughter of the said Nancy of the age of seventeen years or thereabouts which said mulatto slaves and each of them is of a healthy constitution sound in mind and body and capable by labour to procure to herself sufficient food and raiment with other requisite necessaries of life. Provided that the said mulatto slaves named Nancy Smith and Susan Smith and each of them shall continue to serve me as heretofore and in all things demean herself as a faithful and obedient servant to me until the day of my death and no longer and if during the continuance of the servitude of the said mulatto slaves Nancy and Susan they or either of them shall have my issue of her body begotten then I do hereby determine grant and agree that the State and condition of the said issue shall be that of freedom And I do hereby manumit and set free the said issue. And also provided that the said mulatto slave named Charity Smith shall continue to serve me as heretofore and in all things demean herself as a faithful and obedient servant to me until the day of my death and from and after my said decease that she the said Charity Smith shall serve my daughter Fanny Fowler and in all things demean herself as a faithful and obedient servant to my said daughter until the day of the death of my said daughter and no longer and if during the continuance of the servitude of the said Charity Smith she shall have any issue of her body |
