315 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Ann Arundell County to wit: Be it remembered that on the day twenty fifth July Ann Dom 1815 personally appeared John Brice party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under me and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided chd And Warfield 2½ Recorded the 3.d day of August 1815 Anne Arundel County Sct To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Edward Lloyd now of the City of Annapolis in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Ibby Ackifoe being about the age of thirty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Ibby Ackifoe I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to |
