305 Know all men by these presents that I Henry Hooper for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have and by these presents do manumit and set free from slavery my coloured slaves Charity aged eighteen and ^or^ nineteen years Ezekiel aged about twelve years and Robert Matthews aged six years hereby declaring them to be absolutely free. Given under my hand and seal the fifteenth day of April 1815 Signed Sealed and delivered in his presence of Henry + Hooper (seal) Owen Dorsey Fielder Israel mark On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Ann Arundel County ss. On the fifteenth day of April eighteen hundred and fifteen before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for said County came Henry Hooper party to the aforesaid deed of manumission and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed Ex.d d.d Abner Linthicum paid 1¼ Recorded the 25th day of April 1815 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Richard Harwood of Thomas of the City of Annapolis and State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of two hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Linda being of the age of about twenty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said |
