295 said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro woman therein mentioned to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before paid Thomas Sellman 2¾ Recorded the 4.th day of April 1815 State of Maryland Sc.t To all whome these presents shall come Greeting I Charles Pettebone of Ann Arundell County in the State aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumited and enfranchised the negroes folloing to witt Cassy aged about thirty years to be free on the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifteen. And I do discharge them from all servitude and forever quit claim to all right and title to them on the day and year aforesaid from me my heirs executors and administrators forever.
