296 the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof this sixth day of april one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Chd Thomas Bassford 2 Recorded the 6th day of April 1815 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Wapping Brown of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland saving and reserving to myself now and at all times during my natural life all right of servitude service and slavery of my negro slaves Henrietta Brown aged forty years Peter Brown aged six years Benjamin Brown aged three years and John Brown aged one year for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of twenty dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free from and after the end of my natural life and do by these presents hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free after the end of my natural life my negro slaves to wit: Henrietta Brown and any Children she may hereafter have Peter Brown Benjamin Brown and John Brown they being able to work and gain a sufficient |
