294 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Bennett Harrison of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of ninety dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Fanny Davis being of the age of thirty two years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Fanny Davis I do declare henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of March eighteen hundred and fifteen Signed Sealed and delivered Bennett Harrison (seal) in presence of The words "Davis" being first twice interlined Thomas Sellman John H. D Lane On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne arundel County to wit: On this twenty fourth day of march eighteen hundred and fifteen personally appears Bennett Harrison party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for |
