29 act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned Taken before Richard Merriken Recorded 21.st March 1808 Exd d d Know all men by these presents that I Charles Carroll of Carrollton for divers good causes and considerations me hereto moving have manumitted and forever set free and by these presents do manumit and forever set free the following persons to wit. Thomas Mahoney Robert Mahoney Joseph Mahoney Ann Mahoney Charles Mahoney Eleanor Mahoney and Prudence Mahoney the mother of said Thomas Robert Joseph Ann Charles and Eleanor by Thomas Mahoney her husband and I do by these presents now and from henceforth relinquish all claim and right whatever of in and to the said mentioned persons and do publish and declare them to be free: In witness whereof I have this twenty fifth day of april in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eight: hereto set my hand and affixed my seal Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Ch. Carroll of Carrollton (seal) Gideon White James Williamson on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit State of maryland ann arundel county to wit on the 25.th day of april 1808 the above named Charles Carroll of Carrollton personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledged the above deed of manumission to be his act and deed acknowledged before & certified by Gideon White Recorded 25 april 1808 |
