28 Ex.d.d.d Know all men by these presents that I Mary Ridout of Anne Arundel county in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have manumitted liberated and set free and by these presents do manumit liberate and set free a certain mulatto boy slave named Murray Talbot aged eighteen years in good health and who is every ways capable of supporting himself by his own labour and I do hereby warrant his liberty or freedom from service unto the said Murray Talbot against all persons whatsoever claiming or who may claim him as a slave In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on this nineteenth day of march in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eight signed sealed & delivered in the presence of Horatio Ridout Mary Ridout (seal) Rachel Ridout on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wt State of maryland Anne arundel county to wit on this 19.th day of march anno Domini 1808 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid the within named Mary Ridout and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her |
