262 personally appeared Susanna Lane party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro girl within named to be henceforth manumitted and freed according to the last will and testament of the within named Ann Lane Acknowledged before paid R. Welch of Ben 3¼ Recorded the 2.nd day of May 1814 Maryland ss.t This Indenture made and entered into the sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fourteen Between Susanner Gaither of Ann Arundel County and State aforesaid of the one part and negros Mary Ann Harriott and Wilson the property and Slaves of the aforesaid Susanner Gaither agreeable to the laws of our Land.
