my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of
September in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirteen

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit:
Anne Arundel County sc.t  Be it remembered
that on this 10th day of Septem.r in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen
personally appears John Brice Sen.r party to the
within instrument of writing before me the
subscriber a justice of the peace for the State
of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges
the same to be his act and deed for the
purposes within mentioned and the negro boy
within named to be henceforth manumitted
and discharged from all services to him or to
any claiming under him and to be free and
manumitted according to the act of Assembly
in such cases made and provided

in the State of Maryland for divers good causes
