age from generation to generation hereby
acknowledgeing the said negro shall go as they
arrive to the age or time above mentioned
from all claim of service and right of property
whatever from me my heirs executors
administrators or assigns.  As witness my hand
and seal this 8.th day of Feb.y 1814 eighteen
hundred fourteen

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit:
Anne Arundel County  Then came Nicholas
Sank before me one the Justices of the piece
for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the
above instrument of writeing to be his act
and deed for the true purpose and meaning
thereof and the act of assembly in such case
made and provided

Whereas I Sophia G. Ridgely of Anne Arundel
County in the State of Maryland have sold unto
John Drummond Carter of the same County
the three female negroes following to wit
negro Ment aged about twenty two years to
serve until the twenty seventh day of January
in the year eighteen hundred and twenty three
