25. as witness my hand and seal this eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and eight Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Gideon White S Amuel Ridout (Seal) Jn.o M. Sewell on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann Arundel county to wit: on the 18.th day of January 1808 appeared Samuel Ridout before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said county and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided Gideon White Recorded 19.th Jany 1808 Exd d d State of Maryland anne arundel ^county^ Sc.t To all whom it may concern Be it known that for divers good causes me thereunto moving. I Anne Stewart of the county aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreeably to the terms herein after specified my four negroes to wit Milly aged eight years to be free at the age of twenty five years Thornton aged seven years to be free at the age of twenty five years mary aged six years to be free at the age of twenty five years and Nelly aged four years to be free at the age of twenty five years and the issue of all the aforesaid females and the issue of such issue shall be free at the age of twenty five years hereby declaring and acknowledging the said negroes as aforesaid free and forever discharged from all claim of service right or property |
