23 for the said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and ^deed^ for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Benj.a Allein Recorded Nov.r 18.th 1807 Maryland. Ann Arundel county Be it known that I Samuel Ridout in and for divers considerations do hereby manumit and discharge from slavery from the date hereof a negro woman Cassy aged about thirty three years and able to procure her own living and I do hereby liberate manumit and discharge from slavery from and after the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty one a negro boy named Alec aged about ten years and I do farther hereby discharge from slavery from and after the tenth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty three a negro boy named Henry aged about eight years both which boys are the children of the said woman Cassy and have been sold by me until the aforesaid periods of time unto a certain Nicholas Baldwin of the county aforesaid and the said Alec and Henry I do declare to be thenceforth that is to say on the respective days above mentioned freed manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude to me my executors or administrators and from all manner of claim or right of servitude or service by me my executors or administrators forever |
