220 To all whom it may concern be it Known that I Osborne S. Harwood of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations thereunto moving as also in further consideration of fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and do by these presents hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Hannah Young being of the age of forty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Hannah Young I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen Signed Sealed and delivered Os. S. Harwood (seal) in presence of Thomas Sellman John Sellman On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit ANne Arundel County to wit: On the 13th day of July 1813 personally appears Osborne S. Harwood before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed agreeable to the true intent and meaning thereof |
