217 I John T Richardson of West River Anne Arundel County Maryland do hereby set free from bondage my woman (mulatto) called Milly or Milly Lowry being of the age of forty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said mulatto named Milly alias Milly Lowry I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude and service and do for myself my executors and administrators release unto the said Milly or Milly Lowry all my right and all claim whatsoever as to her person or to any estate she may acquire hereby declaring the said Milly alias Milly Lowry to be absolutely free without any interruption from me or any person claiming under me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenti fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen Sealed and delivered in the Jn.o T Richd Son (seal) presence of John Johns Dennis Iglehart On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: State of Maryland ss. On the twentififth day of May in the year of our Lord 1813 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Anne Arundel County John T Richardson party to the above instrument of writing who acknowledged the said instrument to be his act and deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively his paid acknowledged before Exd d.d John Johns 2½ Recorded the 31.st day of May 1813 |
