216 the said negro man named Benjamin I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this third day of May in the year of our Lord 1813 Signed Sealed and delivered George Watts (seal) in the presence of Gideon White Jno Mallonee On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of sixty pounds current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Witness Gideon White George Watts (seal) Ann Arundle County to wit: On this third day of May personally appears George Watts party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purpose within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Chd acknowledged before 3 Gideon White Recorded the 3.d day of may 1813 |
