211 Sarah Brown as aforesaid she being of the age of thirty three years and able to gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Sarah alias Sarah Brown I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me (after the expiration of the term aforesaid) my executors or administrators forever. And for the considerations before recited I have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro girl named Harriet aged three years old the third day of May next and my negro girl named Henny aged one year the first day of April next children of the said Sarah and them I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirteen Signed Sealed and delivered William Brewer (seal) in presence of us John Brewer Truman Cross On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned |
