190 aforesaid And the said Ann Lane did devise under her said Will that a certain Negro Girl by the Name of Jamima daughter of Henny about Eight Years old should be Manumitted and set set Free. And Whereas the said Ann Lane did by her said Will authorise and empower John Warren Osborn Sprigg Harwood and Susanna Lane or either of them to Manumit and liberate the said Negro Jamima. Therefore I the said Susanna Lane by the power vested to me under the said Will do Liberate Manumit and set Free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery the said Negro Jamima and do declare her to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude agreeably to the Will of the said Ann Lane In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Twenty first day of September in the Year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Twelve Signed Seal'd and delivered Susana Lane (seal) in the presence of Joseph Sands On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County to Wit. On this 21.st day of September Eighteen hundred and Twelve personally appeared Susanna Lane party to the within Instrument of Writing before me the subscriber |
