189 Know all men by these presents that I John Chew Thomas of Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland do hereby manumit set free and grant freedom to my negro lad named Lloyd from and after the first day January eighteen hundred and fifteen next ensuing the date hereof. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of June 1812 Witness Jn.o Chew Thomas (seal) William S. Green James Green On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Ann Arundel County ss. On this 17.th day of June 1812 personally appeared before us the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the within named John Chew Thomas and acknowledged the within deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Chd Joseph Sands 1½ Recorded the 12th day of August 1812 To all to whom it may Concern Be it Known That Ann Lane of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland made her last Will and Testament in Writing dated the Thirtieth day of March seventeen Hundred and Ninety Eight which Will is legally proved and Recorded according to Law in the Register of Wills office for the County |
