191 a Justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledg'd the same to be her act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the Negro Girl within named to be henceforth manumitted and freed according to the Last Will and Testament of the within named Ann Lane Ex.d Acknowledged before Joseph Sands p.d 3 Recorded the 21.st day of September 1812 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Charles Waters of Ann Arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of five shillings Current money to me in hand paid have releasd from Slavery liberated manumitted and set Free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free from and after the respective days and times hereinafter mentioned my negro Woman Darkey and Cloe from and after the day and ^of the^ date of these presents my negro man Peter from and after the first day of may in the Year Eighteen Hundred and twelve my negro man James from and after the first day of January |
