174 in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery manumitted and set free my negro woman named Cornelia being of the age of forty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance my negro woman named Judy Jiams aged twenty eight years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance also my negro woman named Sall aged about twenty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and also my negro child named John (son of Sall aged about nine months and them the said negroes named Cornelia Judy Jiams Sall and her son John I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve Signed Sealed and delivered Zach Duvall (seal) in the presence of Gideon White Jn.o mallonee On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five shillings Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Witness Gideon White Zach Duvall (seal) Jn.o Mallonee |
