158 and set free and by these presents do hereby manumit and set free my negro man named Jim being of the age of thirty six years and my negro woman named Suckey aged twenty eight years. I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or survice to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven Signed Sealed and Margaret Hopkins (seal) delivered in the presence of James H. Marriott Gerrd H. Snowden On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County to wit. On this 6.th day of August 1811 personally appears Margaret Hopkins party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroe man and woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to her or any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before chd James H.
