156 the age of eighteen or nineteen years and able to work and gain a livelyhood and maintenance and her the said negro Girl named Bet I do declare to be free manumited and discharged from all manner of servitude and service to me my executors or administrators from the day of the date hereof and forever thereafter In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of June eighteen hundred and eleven Signed Sealed and delivered Jeremiah Hughes (seal) in presence of Gideon White James murdock On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Rece.d the day above mentioned one dollar in full consideration for the above Jeremiah Hughes Ann Arundell County to wit: On the tenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and eleven appeared Jeremiah Hughes before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned Ex.d d.d Gideon White ch.d 2½ Recorded the 21.st day of June 1811 |
