Whereof I have hereunto set my hand

3      Recorded the 14.th day of may 1811


    This Instrument of writing witnesseth that
I have manumitted and set free and do by
these presents discharge from slavery a negro
woman named Nelly about forty eight years
of age of good health and able to procure her
own maintenance.  As Witness my hand and
seal this twenty ninth day of May in the year
of our Lord eighteen hundred and eleven
Witness     
       Gideon White        Samuel Ridout   (seal)
          Jn.o mallonee

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit
Ann Arundel County sc.   on the 29 day of
may 1811 appeared Samuel Ridout before the
subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County
and acknowledged the above instrument of
writing to be his act and deed

       To all whom it may concern  Be it Known that
I Jeremiah Hughes of the City of Annapolis and State
of Maryland for divers good causes me thereunto
moving as also in further consideration of one dollar
to me in hand paid have released from slavery
liberated manumitted and set free and by these
presents do hereby release from slavery liberate
manumit and set free a negro Girl named
Bet (who was the property of my wife at the
time of my marriage) being at this time about
