145 of writing and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and the negro man and woman therein mentioned Thomas and Phebe to be free from Slavery from this date from her her heirs executors and administrators from this date henceforth and forever paid Acknowledged before Samuel Gaither 2 Recorded the 7th day of march 1811 State of Maryland Anne Arundel county Sc.t Know all Men by these presents that I Horatio S Gibson of the county aforesaid in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars current money of the united states to me in hand paid by Patty Lee a free black woman at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Patty Lee her little daughter named Anne now three years old. To have and to hold the said Anne for and during the term of ten years from the date hereof and after the said term of ten years is compleat and ended I do hereby declare the said negro girl Anne the daughter of Patty Lee to be manumitted liberate and free from all kind of servitude to my self my heirs or assigns and do hereby warrant and defend the freedom of said Anne against all and every person whomsoever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal on this twenty fifth day of Jany 1811 signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us H. S. Gibson (seal) Richard Merriken Eliza Merriken On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus endorsed to wit Jany 25.th 1811.
