144 the negros within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him as they shall respectfully arrive at the time therein specified and according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d acknowledged before ch.d Rich.d Merriken 3½ Recorded the 26.th day of Feburary 1811 To all whom it may concern be it Known that I Sarah Cord of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moveing have and do by these presents manumit liberate and set free from Slavery my negro man named ^called^ Thomas commonly called Thomas Cook and my negro woman called Phebe and do by these presents declare them the said negroes to be free from any further servitude to me my heirs executors or administrators or any person claiming by from or under me.
