141 to be free at my death henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before paid Thomas Sellman 3 sds Recorded the 25.th day of January 1811 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sc.t To all whom it may concern Be it Known that for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving I John Pitts of the County aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreably to the terms hereinafter specified my two negro boys viz.t first Ned Guy born about the 10.th day of may 1800 to commence free on the 10th day of may 1825. Second James Guy born about the 1.st day of October 1801 and in consideration of fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Polley Guy mother of the said James shall commence free Oct.r 1.st 1822 untill which time he the said James is to remain in the service and at the disposal of the said Polley Guy. Hereby declaring and acknowledging the said negroes aforesaid free and forever discharged from all claim of service right or property whatsoever from me or any claiming under me my heirs executors administrators or assigns from and after the expiration of the dates above mentioned In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 25 day of January |
