104 Maryland sc.t To all whom it may concern be it known that I James Wooden a free man of colour of anne arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have agreed to release from slavery liberate manumit and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free from after the first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one a mulatto boy named Peter aged about four years and purchased by me of Thomas Harris Junior administrator of John Grimm deceased he the said Peter being my son and him the said mulatto boy Peter I do declare to be henceforth that is to say from and after the said first day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or adm.s |
