10 named Rachel about thirty years of age to be free on the first day of January which shall happen in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirteen hereby acknowledging the said negro Rachel discharged from all claims of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors administrators or assigns in the manner and form above mentioned as witness my hand and seal this 1.st day of august eighteen hundred and seven signed sealed & deliv.d Thomas Norman (seal) in the presence of Martin Deale on the back of the William Norman aforegoing Instrument was thus endorsed to wit Anne Arundel county august 1 1807 on the day of august eighteen hundred and seven personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid Thomas Norman party to the within Instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed according to the true purport and meaning thereof Recorded 24 aug.t 1807 Tho.s Tongue State of Maryland SS.t To all whom it may concern be it known that I Charles Pettebone of A A county in the state aforesaid for good causes and considerations me thereto moving as also in further consideration of thirty pounds current money to me in hand paid |
