Sainte Mayon La Landelle widow of Francis Maria La Landelle late of Ann Arundel County have and do hereby manumit set free and discharge from service and the service of all persons claiming under the said Francis Maria La Landelle or Maria, Emily, Sainte Mayon La Landelle a certain negro man named Sam and his wife named Nelly and all the children which the said Nelly now hath or may have during the term of her servitude the said Sam and Nelly to be free on the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and eight after which day the said Sam and Nelly are hereby released and discharged from Slavery and the Children of the said Nelly are discharged from Slavery immediately from the date of these presents In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this Twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and one James Mackubin Samuel Ridout (seal) Jn.o Gwinn Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County to wit, Be it remembered that on the Twenty eighth day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and one personally appeared before the subscriber, one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County, the within mentioned Samuel Ridout and acknowledged the within instrument of writing as his act and deed according to the purposes therein mentioned and agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Recorded 28 Septr 1801 James Mackubin |
