85 fourty years of age to be free the first of October in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and five negro Man William bought of Cooley and Brashears 22 years of age to be free the first day of October in the year of our lord Eighteen hundred and Ten, hereby acknowledging the said negroes discharged from all claims of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors or administrators in the manner and form above mentioned As witness my hand and seal this 7.th day of august in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and one Signed and sealed and delivered Thomas Norman (seal) In the presents of Samuel Deale Charles Drury On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt Ann arundel County sc.t August 7.th 1801 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County afs.d the above named Thomas Norman party to the within instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed according to the true purport and meaning thereof acknowledged before Recorded 20th September 1801 Tho.s Tongue
