84 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the Date within mentioned the sum of five shillings Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned Witness James Mackubin Leonard Scott (Seal) Ann Arundel County sct Be it remembered that on the fourth day of September one thousand eight hundred and one personally appeared Leonard Scott party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed and the negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted and Discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided Acknowledged before James Mackubin Recorded 4 Sept.r 1801
and consideration thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumit and enfranchise the following negroes to wit negro woman Nanny Bought of Joseph Dow to be free immediately negro man Philip Bought of Lewis Fisher to be free immedeatly negro Man Adam about |
