65 On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the 18 day of Jan.ry 1800 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the magistrates for Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland Elizabeth Mackubin and did acknowledge the above instrument of writing to be her Act and Deed and the negro woman Flora therein mentioned to be free Recorded 18 January 1800 James Mackubin
the faithful Services of my Mulatto Man John and other Causes me thereto moving have manumitted set free and Discharged from my service forever and by these presents do manumit set free and Discharge from my service forever the said mulatto Man John In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this seventeenth day of January Anno Domini 1800 Test James Mackubin Rezin Rowles Jeremiah Townley Chase (Seal) On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t On the seventeenth day of January Anno Domini 1800 Came the within named Jeremiah Townley Chase before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County & acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his Act & Deed according to Act of assembly in such Case provided taken before James Mackubin Recorded 28 January 1800 |
