48 from my further service In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 9th day of July 1799 Signed & Sealed in presence of Rachel Watkins (Seal) Ja.s Disney John Watkins (of Stephen) On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt On the 9.th day of July 1799 Rachel Watkins acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be her Act and Deed and the negro therein mentioned Liberated and Discharged. Acknowledged before Ja.s Disney Recorded 9 July 1799
Causes and Considerations unto my self known have Liberated released and forever Discharged and by these presents for myself my Executors and Administrators do Liberate release & forever Discharge my negroes following (Vizt) one negro Man named named Rachel aged about thirty eight years to be forever Discharged from all Claims of Service and right of property in Law or Equity which against the said negro Man and negro woman I ever had now have or which me my heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns hereafter can shall or may have for upon or by reason of any matter cause or thing whatsoever from the beginning |
