42 personally came Lucy Dorsey before the subscriber an associate Justice of the County aforesaid & acknowledged the aforegoing Instrument of writing to be her Act and Deed according to true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Henry Ridgely Recorded 16 april 1799
good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving do hereby free manumit and enfranchise the negro following, to wit, Amey aged thirty years to be free in five years from the date hereof hereby Acknowledging the said negro Discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns as witness my hand and Seal this sixth day of april in the blessed year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Signed Sealed & Acknowledged in the presence of Wm Weems (Seal) Saml Harrison Jun John Whittington On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt April 15 1799 Then Came William Weems before me one of the Justices of the peace for the County afsd and acknowledged the above to be his Act and Deed for the true purpose & meaning thereof Sam.l Harrison Junr Recorded 16 May 1799 |
