me thereunto moving do hereby Declare free manumit and enfranchise the negro following to wit negro Thomas Hall aged forty four years to be free from the present date hereof hereby acknowledging the said negro to be Discharged from all Claim of Service and right of property whatsoever from us our heirs Executors or Administrators As witness our hands and Seals this fifteenth day of February seventeen hundred and ninety nine George Whips (Seal) Witness Thomas Hobbs Robert Shipley (Seal) Jasper Peddicord On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t Ann Arundel County sct. On the fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred & ninety nine personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid George Whips and Robert Shipley parties to the above instrument of writing & acknowledged the said instrument to be their Act and Deed and the signature and seal thereto annexed to be respectively theirs Acknowledged before Thomas Hobbs Recorded 15 april 1799 |
