Dorsey On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Vizt Ann Arundel County On this 12 day of april 1799 came the above named Thomas Douglass before me a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above instrument of writing as his Act and Deed As witness my hand & Seal the day and year above written Archibald Dorsey Recorded 26.th april 1799
for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumit & enfranchise the negroes following to wit negro Lucy aged thirty six years to be free from this date hereof negro Thomas aged three years and negro John aged one year boath to be free from the dait hereby acknowledging the said negroes Discharged from all Claim of Servis and right of proper whatever from me my heirs Executors or Administrators As Witness my hand Seal this fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Witness Thomas Hobbs Jasper Peddicord Robert Shipley (Seal) (On) |
