Ann Arundel County sct   I hereby Certify that it appears by a Deed of
manumission from Richard Darnall to Negroe Benjamin James aged
about twenty two years bearing date the twenty sixth day of December
one thousand eight hundred and five and recorded among the
records of Ann Arundel County Court that the said Negro Benjamin
James was to be free from the date of the said manumission that he
is about five feet ten Inches and a half high his Complexion
Yellow was raised at Portland Manor on Patuxent River in
Ann Arundel County   Frances Darnall of Ann Arundel County
made Oath before Gideon White a Justice of the peace of the
County aforesaid that the said Negro Benjamin James is the
Identical person mentioned in the said Deed of manumission
    Issued the 14th of april 1806


The State of Maryland Ann Arundel County sct   I Nicholas
Harwood Clerk of Ann Arundel County Court hereby Certify that it
appears by a Deed of manumission from Nathan Waters to
sundry Negroes bearing date the second day of June in the
year one thousand seven hundred and ninety and recorded
amongst the records of Ann Arundel County Court that
Negro Peggy aged about thirty years at this time was to
be free from the date of the said manumission that she is
about five feet four Inches high her Complexion Yellow
was raised on Rhode River in said County Catherine
Mackubin of said county made Oath before Gideon
White a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid that
the said negro Peggy is the Identical person mentioned
in the said Deed of manumission
             Issued the 14.th April 1806
