On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit
On the twenty fourth day of January 1799 Came John Gwinn
party to the within Instrument of writing before the
subscriber one of the Justices of Ann Arundel County and
Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed

 State of Maryland to wit, Know all Men

by these presents that I have manumitted
Discharged and set free negro Nelly formerly
my property witness my hand Seal this fifteenth day
of February seventeen hundred and ninety nine
Signed & Sealed in presence of
       James Mackubin                     Jon.a Pinkeney   (seal)
       Rezin Rowles

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t
On the 15th of February 1799  Then Came Jonathan Pinkney
before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the
peace for Ann Arundel County & Acknowledged the above
Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed

Arundel County & State of Maryland
Do hereby set free from bondage my two negroes
namely Polly aged about five years to be free at
the age of eighteen years also my negro boy Charles
aged about three years to be free at the age of
twenty one years from the day of the date hereof
I do for myself my heirs Executors Administrators
